Help! I LOST my Laptop charger!!!!
You will need to replace the charger with a new Apple charger. The best way for this to happen is for you to purchase one from a retail or online store. The chargers from the Apple Store are approximately $79.
Several online vendors have this part available at a cheaper price. Availability and price changes often. Please Google to find the very best price! ***This is the part you need to order: Apple - 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter with Magnetic DC Connector. |

My laptop (or laptop charger) is broken...
(My laptop won't turn on, the display is broken, a key is missing, it opens up too far, I might have spilled water on it or...)
Students should bring the broken laptop to the Help Desk and honestly tell us what happened. Sometimes hardware inside the computers breaks and it's no fault of the student. Unfortunately sometimes the problem is due to student neglect. We send all breakage incidents in to our District Office to be evaluated. Often time they have to be sent off to be repaired by an Authorized Apple Repair Center.
Any charges due to neglect are based on the repair cost. After the device is repaired we receive an invoice that is passed on to the student. A payment towards this fee is required for the student to begin taking it home again. Until that first payment is made students will need to check their laptop out daily.
One of the most common incidents determined to be neglect is liquid damage. Please take precautions to ensure that this doesn't happen to you! NEVER have an open drink beside your laptop.
Another common issue is a broken display. ALWAYS keep your laptop IN the case provided. Your laptop is NOT safe just in your book bag.
(Self Service not working, battery not charging, frequent freezing, date/time are not correct, computer is VERY slow...)
First - Restart your computer. This fixes SO many issues! But if that doesn't work...
It's also possible that we need to re-image your computer or adjust some settings on your laptop. It's OK to stop by the Help Desk for assistance. Just be sure it's OK with your classroom teacher first.
If we have to send your laptop off for repair or keep it for more than a day we will provide students with a Loaner iPad
so class participation can continue. Most repairs are completed within 2 weeks.
